Theodore O'Hara letter : 1865.

This single item collection is dated Columbus, Georgia, January 15, 1865. It was written to Mrs. Richard Wintersmith by Theodore O'Hara. The letter is mainly of a personal nature concerning a loan O'Hara had received from her husband, Dick. The rest of the letter discusses O'Hara's movements through Georgia and Virginia with his regiment during the waning days of the Civil War. He goes on to say, "that Jeff Davis, Bragg, and company have carried us so far on the road to the devil that nothing can reclaim us from ruin."
